It is to everyone’s immense credit that cricket was played this year with the club entering 3 teams into the revised league format and enjoying a series of Sunday fixtures. It is now time for us as a club to reflect on what we achieved in the 2020 season and to start putting plans in place for 2021.

As such we would like to extend an invitation to all Horton House Cricket Club members to attend our annual AGM at 7:00pm on Wednesday, 9th December. Clearly this year we will not be able to meet in person so this year it will be held via a Zoom Meeting. Should any members be interested in attending could you please let either Billy Scott (wscott93@outlook.com) or Paul Das (paul@thedasclan.com) know by return please, and they will ensure that you are forwarded a link to the meeting, and all associated documentation.

We are going to have do things a little differently this year and rather than taking nominations from the floor for all ‘club officer’ roles, we are going to have take nominations up front ahead of the meeting. Because of the curtailed season, all paid-up, adult members of the club in 2019 and/or 2020 will be eligible to vote.

For information, Will Knibbs is standing down as 1st Team Skipper, Simon Knibbs is standing down from his role as Treasurer and Rick Faulkner is standing down as Bar Secretary. On behalf of us all I would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Simon for his immense contribution over the years to Horton House Cricket in his role as Chairman, Treasurer and occasional middle order batsman.

The club officer roles that need to filled are as follows:

President – Ian Scott is willing to stand for another year
Chairperson – Mike Macdonell is willing to stand for another year
Treasurer – vacant role
Club Welfare Officer – Shelley Moxham is willing to stand for another year
Bar Secretary – vacant role
Secretary – Billy Scott is willing to stand for another year
Director of Cricket – vacant role
Communication Officer – Paul Das is willing to stand for another year
Clubhouse Manager – new role
Events Committee – Tom Knibbs and Elliot Cantrell are willing to stand for another year
Club Captain / 1st Team Captain – vacant role
2nd Team Captain – vacant role
3rd Team Captain – Kevin Taylor is willing to stand for another year
4th Team Captain – Paul Das willing to stand for another year
Ladies Team Captain - Sophie Bendonwilling to stand for another year
Sunday Team Captain – Alan Pitt willing to stand for another year

Should any member be looking to stand for any of the above roles – it is imperative that you let either Billy or Paul know ahead of the meeting please. Where more than one member has expressed an interest in a club officer role, an online voting system will be used to determine the outcome. Please note all nominees for the respective Captain’s roles may be asked to say a few words to outline their perceived credentials for the role.

For ease of meeting management, should any member have a question that they would like the Committee to address at the AGM, could you please forward these to Billy or Paul ahead of the meeting.
