Ladies Red vs. Brixworth

Ladies Red vs. Brixworth

Will Smith19 Jun - 09:04

By the barest of margins.....

As the weather has heated up in June so has the ladies section with some brilliant cricket!

This week the ladies teams felt the joy of the sun beating down in 28 degrees wearing polyester kit and an unventilated cricket helmet…….brings bad hair day to a whole different dimension!

Both skippers have been delighted with the continued attendance at training on a Sunday-and at fitness and fielding on a Monday night.

This really makes a difference to our playing ability in the field. Both teams have displayed some brilliant and dynamic fielding over the last few weeks. Some excellent ground work and some tough catches in the field!

The reds and blues have now both played Brixworth at another superb ground in the league. Although clearly no comparison to Denton Road! The blues played first and faced an established league side. They showed their opposition that they may be a new team in the league-but that they mean business! The reds deployed a new fielding stance thanks to guidance from our Club Captain and held Brixworth to a draw at 158 runs each. (We took 5 wickets and they took none!)

However we actually think it was down to our team mascot Reggie who brought us a lovely picture to the game to spur us on ❤️.

Brixworth were complimentary of both teams as to how we played and conducted ourselves in the essence and spirit of the game. Thank you ladies for representing the House so well.
