A message from the desk of Michael Macdonell

Dear Horton House Cricket Club Member,

A very Happy New Year to you! I hope that 2019 has started well and that you are looking forwards to another exciting summer of Cricket at Denton Road, Grange Park and Boughton.

Reflecting on 2018, there can be little doubt that it represented one of our most successful seasons. Prominent among the many highlights were:

· Our Men’s 1st XI finishing fourth in the NCL Premier Division;
· Our Ladies XI retaining their Premier Division status after last season’s promotion;
· Our Under 19’s winning the County T20 Competition & finishing third in the Regional Finals;

Let’s aim to maintain this exceptional standard in the season ahead.

The Committee is also making plans off the field to build and grow the Club in a way that is sustainable and financially viable. These plans are driven by the needs of all our Members as we strive to provide the very best playing, coaching and social facilities possible. They include:

· A minimum of £5,000 of self-generated funding;
· Social & Fund-Raising events throughout the year;
· Exciting Sponsorship opportunities;
· Pursuance of Grant Aid opportunities;
· The return of the Jim Wolstenholme Junior Cricket Day;
· The return of the President’s Day;

The Committee has also agreed to set the 2019 Membership Fees at the following levels:

Senior Men's Playing Member - £130
Senior Ladies Playing Member - £60
Family Membership (2 Social and 2 Juniors) - £100
Student Playing Member - £65
Junior Playing Member - £65
Social/Golf Society Member - £15

There is a 10% discount available on Senior Membership Fees if paid before 1st March 2019. Match fees (in Senior & Ladies fixtures only) have been set at £6 for the 2019 season and includes the cost of your tea.

Building a Club that provides the best possible amateur sporting experience for all of our Members is our aim and our vision. We cannot achieve this without your full support and your appreciation of the need to remain financially solvent – both now and for the long term. Raising Membership Fees is never an easy decision to make, but it is the right thing to do at this time.

We are hugely excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to a fantastic summer of Cricket.

Michael Macdonell
Chairman
