In an inspired move, the captain won the toss and asked Brigstock to have a bat.
With the Brigstock team playing in an attacking manner, there were plenty of chances on offer. Unfortunately we failed to capitalise on most of these.
Despite a promising spell from Vishal Mistry on debut, and a mature 15 over spell from Finlay Moffat, who was deserving of a few wickets that on another day will come his way, Brigstock racked up 312-1 off 48 overs before they declared.
In reply, a mixture of good bowling and some poor batting saw Horton crumble to 36 all out. A resilient performance from Harry Dube showed that batting was not impossible.
A week to put behind us and move on as we return to Denton Road next week to face Wollaston.
