Horton Ladies victory

On Sunday the women's Horton team played the last season’s league winners; Oxford. With a lot of effort and encouragement from each other we were able to win with a score of 230-189. Well done to everyone!
We started off with batting, the openers were Flo miller and Abigail Passmore. Well done to Honor and Poppy and Summer for getting over 40 runs. With this strong start, quick singles and amazing shots, we were able to have a score of 230. The highest score was Summer Keightley with 43!
We then had an amazing tea by Freya Humphrey and went on to field. The openers in bowling were Freya Humphrey and Honor Austin. We started off well But struggled to take an initial wicket with one of their players scoring 72. Well done to Flo Miller for taking 5 wickets and to Danielle Brockwell and Laura Jaspar for taking 2 wickets. Summer Keightley bowled exceptionally and deserved more than her one wicket, keeping the run rate low at an essential part of the game. With this amazing bowling we were able to receive all the bonus points. Horton had very tight fielding and did extremely well to win, an excellent team effort.
