Indications of a Bright future

Turning up to Geddington with it raining wasn't the ideal start to our Saturday however clearing up just before the start we got out to train.

Before the toss, confident, our openers wanted to bat. Losing the toss Geddington decided to put us into bat.

Our new opening Partnership walked out to the middle in the form of Kiron Das and Riz Alam. Unfortunately losing Kiron in the first over brought John Wolstenholme to the crease. In what was some of the best timed shots Riz Alam set about counter attacking.

A break in play due to rain brought us off for a short period but we returned not to long after with no effect to the match.

Unfortunately this brought a couple of wickets and in strides the returning Elijah Glover and Liam Redding who put on a 40 partnership between them. Elijah reaching a half century. Unfortunately the classic Horton collapse struck and even though some quick runs from Finley Moffat, we were only able to muster 143 runs, although this being a vast improvement on previous weeks.

We got onto the field confident in our opening attack of James Dadge and Rujul Singh. That confidence paid, taking a wicket apiece.

Geddington were then to face our spin attack consisting of 5 bowlers. Dan Robinson and Stephen Finch letting near to no runs between them. The batsmen not being able to do anything. Ben Jordan and Elijah Glover taking 2 wickets a piece put the game on a knife edge.

Coming into the last 10 overs the game could of gone either way. Unfortunately it was not to go ours and Geddington chased the game with a few overs to go.

An amazing attitude from all the boys and incredible to push right to the end. We are hoping to use this against Brixworth next week to hopefully do the double over them.
