1st win for the 3rds!

2nd game on the road
Horton win the toss and choose to bowl first.

Kev Taylor and George Pitt open the bowling.
George's first over eventful - but after a nervy start bowled well and took the opening scalp. Finished with figures of 1-41 off his 6 overs.
Skipper Kev bowled through his 9 overs taking 3-8.
Finn Herrington came on 1st change and bowled well claiming impressive figures of 3-28 including two in two balls.
Zahid Mirza and Ian Street claiming a wicket a piece with figures of 1-8 and 1-6 respectively.
The innings was brought to a close with a direct hit for a run out by Mark Glover.

Pleased with the performance which also included 4 quality catches , 2 from James Martin and 1 for Harry Knibbs and Finn Herrington.

St Crispins ended their innings 110 all out in 28.2 overs. Hock top scoring with 45

Horton with the bat opened up with Mark Glover and Harry Knibbs.
Harry bowled by a ball which nipped back 21-1
Zahid looking comfortable top edged one 33-2
Come the the entrance of Ishtaq Hussain at 4. After managing to curb the urge to hit everything Ish and Mark build up a solid 50 partnership taking the score to 85-3 when Ish was bowled for 26.
We then manage to lose 5 wickets for 18 runs giving the opposition a glimmer of hope as we reach 103-8 when the skipper joined James Martin at the crease. Solid defence and patience to pick the right balls to attack see the boys home in 36 overs.
James 9 not out and Kev 3 not out.

Good bowling from the home side P.Smith 5-25 and W.Palmer 2-33 from their 9 overs.

A pleasing all round performance from the team. A win against the team who were top of the table at start of play bodes well for the weeks to come. Well done fellers, enjoyed the game today.

Let's carry on to next week where we entertain Old at Grange Park.

A very happy captain. Kev T.
