Richards'8 ball blitz ! Makes all the difference

Grange Park finally greeted us in all its splendour , dry pitch, good weather and young side full of optimism for our eagerly awaited return match versus Wellingborough OG's 2nds.

Horton lost the toss and were put in to bat. Not an issue as Kev would've batted first anyway. The pitch looked hard and true.
However steady bowling on what proved to be a slow and difficult to bat on surface meant we struggled to get the ball away.
A good innings of 59 from Kiron Das formed the backbone of our innings but he continued to lose partners early doors and by drinks we were 70-4. A good partnership of 39 between Kiron and Finn Herrington 26 took us up to 97-5 when Kiron finally fell.
The tail wagged a little with Elliott, Vignesh and Harry Patel managing to get us up to 130-8 off our 45 overs.

This looked like a competitive total when in reply OG's were struggling at 7-2 both bowled by Kev. When Elliott took the 4th wicket at 58 we were confident. However this bought Tyler Richards to the crease who batted like his namesake "Vivian" and proceeded to put us to all parts of the ground. When he was finally out for 49 (3 4's and 5 6's later ) he had taken the game from us and OG's reached their target of 131 - 8 in the 34 the over. Despite good bowling from the skipper 3-11 and Elliott Cantrell 3-21 we couldn't quite mop up the tail.

OG's win by 2 wits - 25 points Horton 5 points.

We move on to another home game versus Heyford on Saturday.
