The dads almost did themselves proud by not getting heat-stroke.

The Legends were at Emberton playing on a good batting track and against a friendly but determined OGs.

Winning the toss the OGs decided to bat. Our innings got off to a good start with Mitchell taking 2 early wickets. Wickets fell regularly the OGs and there were wickets for Jack Sharif, John Jesu and Ray Mirza. However, the OGs opener Pritul Khagram batted for 34 overs and managed to score 130 runs before be played on to Ray. We had 3 chances to get him out but they were all split all the the same fielder who claimed the sun was in their eyes each time (naming no names!!!) The OGs finished on 239 and tea was a respite from the heat of the day.

Going into bat Ray was the pick of the top order, batting with a purpose and plan got to 40 before getting out to what can only be described as a pie. Adam Willis kept him in good company as did Mitchell to get us to 3 figures. However, the OGs wanted all the points from the game and decided to crowd the bat for the last few wickets. It failed - John Jesu (22*) and yours truly did not give them that satisfaction.

A massive thank you to the dads who played today Rob Boffin, Father Ted and Geoff Dobson. Without you gentlemen we would not have had a game.

Next week we are at our last home game for the season at Boughton!!!
