And a new start is born - Matthew Dobson!!!

With rain over night and on an uncovered track what greeted the skipper was what you can see in the picture. Whilst a bad workman may blame his tools this was not a wicket to savour. And a Lee Willis said - one to bowl first on. So we lost the toss and went into bat. Well at least Lee got captains hatrick triple points on some kind of betting syndicate he is part of #gambleaware

Opening the innings DKH took the Kimi Raikkonen approach to opening the batting as in getting to the crease when he felt like it and started to dispatch a rather angry opening bowler to all parts of the ground - that whilst wearing a snapback hat. One glorious shot too many from DKH and Will Smith and Paul Das worked hard to get the total to 73 for 2. Unfortunately the pitch was too hard to bat on for the younger members of the team and we finished on 93 all out.

In reply, we knew that on such a wicket the total would be a difficult one to get to but the wind was drying out the pitch which calmed the spitting cobra. Horton started well and a stunning catch from Matt Dobson saw Lewis Orton take an early wicket but we missed our chances and despite trying to mix up the bowling the Saints got the runs at a canter. That being said we did not make it easy for them and all the squad pushed hard for wickets till the end.

Let's keep enjoying our cricket and the summer rain and wind!!!
