Vignesh puts the 4ths in a winning position

Under a gloomy sky Horton lost the toss and Bugbrook decided to bat on a very green wicket.

Dylan Martin and George Pitt bowled incredibly tight lines and some excellent length. With a wicket a-piece after 20 overs the run rate was barely 2 an over. The middle-overs was dominated by the returning Guv Bhangal and by Vignesh Sudhakar both taking 3 wickets each. Viggy was particularly impressive with 10 overs for 9 runs. Adam Willis bowled the last overs at the death very well and we managed to restrict Bugbrook to 116 runs. Considering that they are second in the division and the fact that we dropped 9 catches - it was a very impressive bowling effort.

In response we started well but poor shot selection by all but Vignesh (32) saw Horton needing 30 runs in the last 4 overs to win. Alan Pitt and Paul Das got us close but came up just short by 7 runs.

Following the win last week and a narrow defeat this week - it was great to feel the belief in the team and whilst the performance was not the best in the field Vignesh, George, Adam and Dylan played their best games of the season - well done to them. Mitchell had to be sent to A&E after a few overs for a suspected broken knee - thankfully no breaks.

See you all next week - catches really do win matches !!!!
