Horton House vs ON's U11's

ON's turned up at Denton road needing a win to secure the league title, they lost the toss and Horton decided to have a bat first.

We batted very solidly throughout the innings only losing 1 wicket in the last over of the 16. ON's bowled very tight lines and with good pace throughout the innings meaning we struggled to score many runs with only Joseph Falkner (5), Ted Humphreys (4) and Harry Brinkman (4) scoring any significant runs. Only losing wicket to a bowling attack that has won ON's the league was very pleasing for a coach to see.

So it was now our turn to bowl and again we bowled well, keeping good lines but some very aggressive batting meant ON's were very rarely in danger of losing the game. Ted Humphreys 3 overs 1 wicket for 9 runs and Henry Gallagher 2 overs 1 wicket for 15 runs took the wickets along with 2 really good run outs meant we took 4 wickets in total.

A good performance from all the boys and a special mention must go to the 4 under 9 boys that played 2 age group's up today and acquitted themselves brilliantly.
