It was touch and go Sunday morning whether we would play after a heavy rain all night but we agreed to give it ago with the rain due not to return until the afternoon.
We won the toss and decided to have a bat on a very wet artificial against a young Nether Heyford side. Pretty much all our batsmen found it tough going and couldn't get to grips with the skidding surface. Only the pair of Henry Burt 10* and Cameron 9* made the scoreboard attendant get any sort of hurry on. We did however only loose 3 wickets and scored 112 runs in our 5 pairs.
Now over to our strength, bowling! We bowled beautifully with 16 wickets being picked up in total and Heyford were never really in the match but they fought to the end with some spirited batting against our older formidable attack. Tom Hodgkinson was the pick of the bowlers picking up 4 wickets for 4 runs off 3 overs. Also fine performances came from:
Joe Falkner 2 overs 2 wickets 0 runs
Sammy Ramsden 2 overs 2 wickets for 5 runs
Katie Fidler 2 overs 1 wicket for 0 runs
Cameron Thomas 2 overs 2 wickets for 5 runs
Henry Burt stood in as keeper and did a sterling job behind the sticks taking a couple of sharp catches and a couple of run outs.
Also a special Mention to under 9 Ethan Thomas playing his first game for the under 11's and if i was to award a man of match Ethan would of won it hands down, he batted beautifully, playing straight scoring 8* and bowled 2 dead straight overs.
We remain unbeaten with 5 wins out of 5 and only ON's to play a week on Sunday.
