Fielding
6 players and a borrowed fielder Horton could have limped through the game but this was NOT THE CASE. With no nerves, Nichahay Manela stepping up to his first ever keeping positon and bowlers that had an eye on the task Horton set about the oppostion batsman. Bowling striaght linnes and impressive fielding Phoenix we holding theeir own. Bavanith 3/15. Aaryan 3/15 and 1 wkt. Ruben 2/10. Darshith 3/16 and 2 wkts. Srikishnav 3/14 for 2 wkts. Nishchay after a change to Aaryn for Keeper 2/10. The stats really tell the story as there were only 3 byes (from 2 new keepers), 4 no balls and 3 wides. An impressive performance all round that all the players should be proud off.
Batting
New partnerships sealed and a positive game plan Horton set about their task with regular runs whilst keeping their wickerts, a trait we can all admire. Bav and Aaryn scoring 11 each. Nishchay 6, Krish 13 (with 3 lovley boundaries) and Darshith (10) and Ruben (3) in his first ever hardball game held the fort admirably losing only 2 wkts for the whole of the three groups.
End Game
With Darshith batting again along with a "loaned" player from Crispins, Horton took home a draw with Darsith, confidentaly scoring a couple of boundaries to secure the draw.
A credit to the players here for not concerning themselves about who was playing in what role, how many players we had and showing a willingness, determination and focus. A good victory (all be it a draw) and representation of Horton House CC's resolve.
