Phoenix U11 vs Ons U11

What a pleasure to see so many good young cricketers today with Phoenix, fielding 5 x 9 year olds , 1 10 and 2 11's. A breath of fresh air for the future.
Put into bat Horton took on the sharp shooting ON's with grit and gusto. Nischay and Aaryn took on the new ball, scored a great boundary each but in the end lost a couple of wickets.
Henry Edwards and Harvey James steadied the ship, some fine shots, scoring boundaries and with only one out.
Shuja (Capt for the day) and new recruit Harry Mitsom piled on the runs with 18 and no outs. Special mention for Harry, scoring 3 4's off one of the quickest bowlers in the league.
Kris and Haniel closed out with 21 between them, scoring sensibly, ensuring we had a total to bowl at.
Two wickets in his first two overs, Harry gave the scoreboard a jolt.
Henry Edwards bowled tightly, a catch to Shuja, well taken. Wickets to follow for Shuja, Kris and then two more from Kris later on set the game alight.
Shuja, Kris, Harry and Nischay set about their tasks for the last four overs but ON's last pair just had the upper hand, and narrowly getting home.
With a hot day and fielding second Horton should be proud in taking. what we didn’t know, the league champs to the final overs.
A great experience for the players, another game that has been built on.
