Horton House u11's travelled to Northampton Saints for their latest match. It was 2nd vs 4th so was always going to be a tight game. Joe won the toss and batted. Opener Oscar set the pace of the innings with a terrific 17 but the acceleration came from Venkat 20 and Joe with 20. Horton finishing on 322-4. Saints bowled very well. Quick and very tight restricting our scoring.
With what seemed a good score, Saints set about their innings, hitting boundaries and putting pressure on our bowling. Venkat in the middle overs with 4-12 put Saints behind and with 12 needed off the last over, a bold move by our captain Joe threw the ball to leg spinner Reyansh.
Reyansh showed no fear and bowled so well to only concede 2 runs.
So a close match and one everyone will learn lots from.
