Season opener delivers an U15's win!

Wednesday night saw the Under 15's get there 2020 campaign off to the best possible start.

On a warm evening in the fantastic surroundings of Brixworth CC, the team elected to bat first after winning the Covid compliant coin toss....

A slow but steady start was obviously the order of the day and Harvey & Vignesh delivered just that to reach the 8th over before the loss of the 1st wicket. But with only 18 on the board at this stage, it was time for some acceleration!

A speedy 23 from Tom, along with a very solid 32 from Vignesh before retiring not out, were both supported by Honor's 16 no & Finn's 13, to get us to the grand total of 118 for 3 (scoring 50 of the last 5 overs)...

Following the turn the bowlers started well with Brixworth 2 wickets down after 4 overs. By the 11th over a 3rd wicket had fallen and with the home team restricted to 4 an over, we continued to use the opportunity to ensure everyone was involved in the game, by sharing the bowling around the team, allowing some promising skills to be demonstrated.

Great work in the field with catches from Mitchell, Ben & Harvey. Thank you to Josh for keeping wicket and taking 1 stumping and with 2 very close but declined run outs.

Tom demonstrated his skills as a very capable captain.
