Following an initial rain postponement on August 19th the final U15's league match took place on Thursday evening.
The visitors won the toss and unsurprisingly elected to bat first with the game already reduced to 18 overs a side because of light concerns later on.
Our opening bowling pair of George P & Tom delivered a solid start for Horton, keeping the opponents to 15 after their 6 overs. James & Honor then took over the attack in the same vein, restricting the batting teams score and removing their top order between them. 12 overs in and with the opponents restricted to 39 on the board we shared the remaining overs around, which saw George L & Mitchell both pick up 2 wickets each and leaving Mitchell on a hat-trick ball next time he plays! At the end of their 18 overs the opponents had been restricted to 69 for 7.
Special mention for James, who scooped up 3 great catches in the field.
Horton's openers made a similar steady start in reply, matching the run rate that had been set. Having seen off the opening bowlers, it was time to start speeding up the chase, which say Harvey eventually dismissed for 15. Miles with an speedy 29 not out & Vignesh carrying his bat again for 21 not out steered Horton home in the 14th over for the win.
This win closed out the season with our 4th win out of 5 games!
Thank you to everyone who has played for the Under15's this year and a special thank you to Simon Dadge for all you help with the ground preparation for our home games.
