Special mention to all the players, who, were all U15 debutants this season and still at U13 or U14 age level.
First time Captain, Jake Monk proceeded to win the toss and take his team into bat. With some understandable showing and on a slighly tacky wicket the start was cautiuos but disciplined. Soon hough Raif Rahman put his foot down, middled the bat and set to his retirement figure. Showed a display of confident batting and good game play. Anvit Arkanath also scoring well after a cautious start got his 25 with some steady controlled batting. Akshat Singh next in again was measured, took his time to "see" the ball then proceeded to slay the oppositions bowlingwith 6's, 4’s and quick running between the wickets, 3rd retirement.
Harry Farbon, Jake Barnes, Marcus Kemp and Kai Scott, all followed with decent singles and twos, without loss, to wag the tail with a swoosh. Horton 114 for 1.
Harry Farbon opened with movement and perfect length to beat the bat consistently. Akshat followed suit an so Anvit to complete the tidy, medium pace trio.
Kai Scott, Marcus Kemp, Harry Street and Jake Barnes all followed with good line and length and a good share of the wickets between them.
The bowlers werealso backed up by a well supportive and attentive field, sharp and alert. Towcester 80 all out. A good win.
A big shout out goes to Towcester, for their fair play and attitude.A thanks to Jake Monk for taking on the keeper role and aso the late call up of Marcus Kemp and Harry Street, pitching in at the last minute.
A mention must go to Zaim Rahman (up and coming Horton U12) who batted and bowled very well for the Towcester side so again putting Horton, Towcester and the game in good spirit.
A good win, played well and lots of solid skills to build on.
Well done all.
