This week St Crispin & Ryelands hosted us and once again, we enjoyed a fine evening for our match.
Winning the toss, St Crispin’s elected to bat first. Making a steady start to reach 25 in the 6th over before we made a breakthrough with Miles knocking the openers stumps over. St Crispin’s batsmen then put on a solid stand progressing the score until the number 3 retired (42 no) before we next took our next wicket in the 16th over. Some great bowling & fielding from the Horton team saw us take 6 wickets before the end of the innings, to see St Crispin’s end up on 107 for 7. Vinnie was our star bowler with 3 for 12 off 2 overs. Wickets also for Harvey & George. Overall a great Fielding effort from all the team who chased every ball in the field. Special shout out to our keepers this week (we used both Haris & Joey), with both keeping well and capturing both a stumping & a run out.
Horton batsman led by Harvey (retired 43 no) replied with an almost identical run rate throughout their innings. Harry was bowled in the 3rd over, but HBS & Harvey push the run rate on with a good 10 over partnership of 59 runs. The 13th over saw 3 wickets fall in 4 balls and a hat-trick opportunity for the bowler which Miles (29 no) denied before pushing the innings on to victory with Haris (7 no) in the 19th over, reaching 110 for 4.
The whole team should be very happy with the team performance, well done!
Excited for our match versus Towcester next week…
