First win of the season for the u12's

Horton House began their season with an u12 match away at Cogenhoe. A bouncy astro wicket and an outfield with long grass greeted the team. Horton lost the toss and bowled with Cogenhoe posting 288 - 8. Pace man Anunay with 3-12 the pick of the bowlers with the wickets shared around the other bowlers. On a cold evening with a damp ball, bowling and fielding wasnt much fun!!!

Horton took their turn with the bat and it was soon apparent that wides and no balls were going to dominate. Cogenhoe sent down 30 wides which meant scoring off the bat was always going to be difficult. Only 60% of the balls were able to be hit, the tricky wicket and the poor outfield contributed to the low scoring. Krish with 13 and Joe 8 were the top scorers.

So Horton finished on 342 - 3. The winning margin was 64 runs so a resounding win for Horton as they debut the 2024 season.
