FORMAT
• 6 a-side Countdown Cricket
• 60 balls per innings
• 20 balls per pair
• Incrediball – Batters to wear box and gloves. Batters can wear pads if they wish to do so.
• WK to wear gloves and box
PITCH
• Under 12s – 18 Yards, Under 14s – 21 Yards, Under 16s – 22 Yards
BATTING
• Batters may run on any ball whether it is hit or not
• A loss of wicket will result in 5 runs added to the BOWLING teams score
• Batters can be out in the following ways
o Bowled
o Caught
o Run Out
o Stumped
o Hit Wicket
o Caught off any wall or ceiling but not the boundary wall (back wall behind Bowler)
o LBW will not be applied unless the batter deliberately blocks the ball from hitting the wickets
BOWLING
• All bowling to be bowled from one end only.
• All bowlers MUST bowl overarm.
• Every player must bowl 10 balls
• Only 5 balls to be bowled at any one time
• 2 Runs will be awarded to the batting team for each wide ball and no ball
• No extra balls to be bowled for illegal deliveries, except in the last 5 balls, if a wide or no ball is bowled the bowler must bowl each illegal delivery again.
• If a ball bounces more than twice before reaching the popping crease a no ball will be called.
• If the ball is bowled over waist height without bouncing, then a no ball will be called
FIELDING
• Fielders in front of the batter must stand at least 8 yards from the batter or against the wall, whichever is closer.
• The umpire must stop the game in the event of fielders being too close and must ensure the fielder is further than 8 yards away from the batter before play resumes.
SCORING
• 2 Runs added to the team score for each wide or no ball bowled
• No extra balls to be bowled for illegal deliveries, except in the last over, if a wide or no ball is bowled the bowler must bowl each illegal delivery again.
• 1 run if the ball hits the wall or ceiling but batters DO NOT complete run
• 2 runs if the batters COMPLETE a run but the ball DOES NOT hit the wall or ceiling
• 3 runs if the batters COMPLETE a run AND the ball hits hit the wall or ceiling
• 4 runs if the ball hits the back wall without hitting the side wall or ceiling but bounces.
• 6 runs if the ball hits the back wall without hitting the side wall or ceiling but does not bounce.
• 1 run shall be awarded if the ball is missed by the wicket keeper and hits the back wall
• 1 run shall also be awarded if the ball is thrown by a fielder after fielding the ball and the ball hits any wall or the ceiling. This rule can apply more than once during the same delivery.
RESULT OF A MATCH
• The team with the highest score wins.
• A tied game is acceptable - a tied game is both teams score the same number of runs
LEAGUE FORMAT
• 3 points for a win
• 3 points awarded if the other team concedes
• 2 points for a tie
• 1 point for a cancelled/abandoned game
• 0 point for a loss
OTHER
• The matches shall be played with an Incrediball
• Batters are required to wear a box and gloves. Batters are welcome wear pads if they wish to do so.
